Design Trends 2022

The National Kitchen + Bath Association (NKBA) conducts a survey each year to discover kitchen and bath design trends for the year. Kitchens by Oaks received our copy of the report for 2022, and we discovered that there are tons of interesting styles on the horizon. We’d love to share the information we’ve learned with you!

Kitchens

If you’re considering a kitchen remodel this year, you’ll notice that the 2022 trends are taking inspiration from nature. Natural light, outdoor living areas, and colors derived from the earth are taking the spotlight.

The NKBA report includes countertop, backsplash, and appliance trends for 2022, and they are amazing. We’re very excited for quartz countertops in lighter colors and backsplashes with long subway tiles or slab tiles! And are you ready for the latest kitchen and bath tech?

Lighting is crucial in every kitchen. Expect to see larger windows for more natural light, under-cabinet lighting, recessed lights, and app or voice-controlled lighting in kitchens this year!

Baths

Homeowners are looking toward making their showers bigger by removing bathtubs, taking down walls to make larger primary bathrooms, and connecting bathrooms to closets and dressing areas.

Look for bold accents scattered throughout the vertical surfaces of organic-themed baths.
